It was stored in the dark so fading of colors has been minimized. I have restored several Schwinn's and Sting Rays but do not have the time for this one. The seat and hand grips are good shape considering this bicycle is over 30 years old. Original tires are on the rims and will hold air for a time. Sure there is some surface corrosion, but this bike is all there. ![]() They will hold air for a period of time, but have a lot of weather checking and gumwall deterioration like they all did. The tires appear to be the original ones. He was the original owner and it appears like he did not do any work to it since new. According to the information I find, LJ means it had a Chicago, Illinois build date of November 1973. The bike has a Serial number LJ569987 stamped on the frame near the head badge. I did clean off some of the dust and cobwebs some months ago and it is presented here in its mostly unmolested form. This bike was stored at his house like most bikes of the day, in the garage. This is an interesting hard to find model that appears to have the original Schwinn accessory lights and generator. ![]() Well time passed me by and I just do not have the time anymore to go through this one. At the time he gave me the bike, I had just restored a Schwinn Stingray and he thought I would like to have and restore this one too.
